About

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

My first camera? A circa 1960 Kodak Brownie Starflash which I kept in a brown leather case. Lots of different cameras along the way. Have landed with a Canon EOS 6D and really liking it.

As an avid scuba diver, I was initially drawn to underwater photography — a hobby that indulges my attention to detail and my interest in things both digital and mechanical. Have migrated to shooting topside, also, and am finding it equally satisfying. Love macro! Always in awe of what I discover in the ‘near space’ of my images during processing. Particularly interested in plants, birds and other critters. Travel is my classroom and my inspiration.patf-e2-008-edit

My first underwater instructor was Claudia Pellarini – acclaimed photographer, incessant traveler, and modern nomad. Few dive sites in the world rival those we experienced together in Raja Ampat, Indonesia. I advanced my skills, focusing on topside subjects, with instruction from Lynn Damianos – a passionate photographer and teacher. It was Lynn who encouraged me to make the leap to a DSLR. Cathy Church and her Photo Fest team have been invaluable to the improvement of my underwater techniques. Dives with Cathy – a member of the Women Divers Hall of Fame – are some of the longest, most fun, and most rewarding underwater experiences I’ve ever had. My current mentor is Rebecca Morrison – an expert in all things digital and photographical, and an absolute pleasure to work with. I am fortunate to be benefitting from her knowledge and abilities.

This website contains some of my favorite images. I hope you enjoy them!
