Alaska Landscape

There is no place in the world like the state of Alaska. Nicknamed “the last frontier,” it is the largest by area and most sparsely populated of the 50 United States. Its size is not comprehended by most people. Superimposed on a map of the lower 48, Alaska stretches east west from Virginia to California and north south from Minnesota to Florida. Alaska is home to eight national parks, including the largest (which equals 6 Yellowstones) and the least visited of all the parks. Flora and fauna are abundant and diverse. Superlatives abound. Three trips to Alaska and I am eager for more.
