Yellowstone in February is a winter wonderland. Closed to cars, one can imagine the park before the age of automobiles. Colors of animals and land become more visible in the snow. Steam is silhouetted against the sky in the frigid air. Water birds revel in open rivers. Flies feed on bacteria in thermal features. Snow clings to bison and evergreens. I take in the magic of landscape and soundscape.
